                                             movie marketing                                      30.06.20 LO: to develop an effective marketing strategy. kinds of publicity distributors use to market a new film: going to red carpet events  advertisement on TV  posters  magazine interviews  award ceremonies journalists social media for a summer release you would have to make sure you have booked a slot in cinemas and made sure the cinemas have a schedule that you can fit into. you have to make sure trailers and social media feeds are stocked up.  merchandise: stationary clothes  soundtrack  brand partnerships  a book of the film  promotions and merchandise for tenet: gifts and merchandise made on redbubble but other than non-official people making merchandise, i couldn't find any official stuff made by the real tenet company. promotional campaign for my film: hype collaboration because they are a popular brand radio slot on heart radio beca

                                  film  marketing                               23.06.20 LO: to develop an effective marketing strategy for a film. when i would release: when there aren't many movies coming out, like no Disney movies or new marvel films because everyone will go to see them. you would want to release it when people want new films to watch. main target audience: teens- adult.  tenet: genre: thriller/disaster/action  distributors, have to choose the place and timing for distribution and advertisement carefully. they have to analyse, what would give the film more exposure, therefore, more of a potential audience. release date was the 17th of July, but due to the pandemic, it was rescheduled for the 31st of July. what films did they choose to advertise alongside? they played it before Hobbs & Shaw. in Indian screenings, it came before Birds of Prey, and the Joker. in certain IMAX screenings they played it before Star Wars. the TV spot they advertised

                                                            action film trailer                  19.06.20  LO: to develop and effective film marketing strategy. starter:  posters may be different in different countries because there are some things their government doesn't agree with or like. the strongest way of advertising a film is by trailer. if it is good, it can hook in an audience and can produce intrigue on the film, spreading publicity. trailers for disaster movies the distributors have to think about and include: the excitement in the film  the disaster without showing too much intense music  the main characters at least one clip from the film  make it interesting  make it intriguing  trailer by storyboard: i don't think this will have the same effect as an actual trailer would. my disaster film would be live-action with humans, not really cartoons. i won't be able to get the specific movements and actions i would like.

UK film distributors alone spend roughly £300 million a year, bringing new releases to the market, and raising awareness of that film. posters: bold unique intriguing catches the eye when it is released where you can watch it the general essence of the film actors title  directors where the posters usually are seen cinema, on buses, billboards, tv ads what the distributor is trying to achieve by putting the posters in these places? a potential audience, raise awareness of the film's release.  colour palette: browns, reds  font: capitals, showing danger , small so the picture can speak picture: quite empty so the picture gets the spotlight. shows the main characters and what the film is about.  my poster

                                                       disaster film                                    09.06.20               LO: to effectively develop an idea for a disaster movie.  synopsis (blurb) Joanna is lost for ideas.so a cruise seems like a good idea, right? wrong. its summer in the Atlantic ocean. once malfunction and the ship is going under, but they wont be alone. if the rescue team doesnt come quick, there won't be a novel for Joanna to publish. there might not even be anything left of her tomorrow.   if you are reading this, for Joanna's sake, remember to check the depths of the water before you dive in. you never know what's waiting for you underneath the waves. the constant feeling of feeling vunerable and small.  the feeling of having darkness consume you storm causes engine malfunction                              feeling of have the waves come after you  feeling of hopelessness, everyone will seem depressed, just trying to accept their fate.

disaster movie lesson 2                                                       05.06.20 LO: to effectively develop an idea for a disaster movie . questions: when and where the film is set: it is set on a cruise ship in the Atlantic ocean that is on it's way to Argentina, (they stop off places on the way because it's a long cruise). it is set in the present day. what is the overall mood of the film? there will be general happiness because people are on a holiday, this will be presented by the classic vacationers ,  (mid forties/fifties american men and their family that all wear matching Hawaiian shirts). however when the disaster begins there will be a continual sense of not knowing if you will survive for long and a sense of danger that has not quite occurred yet, but feels like it is prominent. how should the movie be filmed? there will be a lot of camera movement to create a sense of drama and danger. for an example when the hand floats upstairs you wont know what it

disaster films                                                                       02.06.20 LO:to explore the disaster movie genre. disaster movies popular sub-genre of action/adventure films cinema-blend top 15 disaster movies of all time-   I haven't watched any of them. I've seen adverts for Godzilla so i've heard of that one and I watched the first 15 minutes of the impossible, but I stopped because I didn't like it. my chosen 3 films the day the Earth caught fire rollercoaster apocalypse Pompeii are the main characters usually male or female? generally i think male. this is because action/adventure is seen as a more manly thing as they are supposedly stronger than women.  which of my chosen films include someone trying to escape or solve a disaster? apocalypse Pompeii is about a family escaping the eruption of mount Vesuvius.  which of my chosen films include a character trying to save a member of their family? apocalypse Pompeii. wh
